GRaphics on the INternet

Here are five websites that rely heavily on the usage of graphics as either a navigational or design feature.

1. (http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/#)-- This use of graphics are placed so that the web surfer can move the curser over what they want to click and watch the text become highlighted, which is good for people who suffer from astigmatisms like myself or just someone with a short attention span.

2. (http://www.hbo.com)-- This website has a smooth and laid back layout. The shadows work well with highlighted texts so you still see everything. I can visualize the movies, shows, documentaries, etc, all with having the graphics accommodate by bold titles which don't take up too much space on the page. NICE layout.

3. (http://www.2advanced.com/)-- This one is very artistic. Every time the curser scans over anything, it creates a high frequency beap, which sounds futuristic. The  page runs very smoothly, the  background images are interactive. Their is music on the page that adds to the scenery of the background, which makes the website feel like your setting the options on a video game that your about to play. Awesome!!!

4. (http://ff0000.com)-- This website has caused me to stop doing homework. When it comes on, it loads up slowly. But then 2-D animation of a little man are shown, and you can control him with your navigational buttons, making him fly past the text on the page or walk through a dark gloomy cemetary, all while the details are on the top of the screen. This seems like a free roam game, but its not. This feature kills some time. Oh yea, you have your own character, along with other people who visit the site and you can chat with them. SWEET!!!

5. (http://theovenreinvented.com/)-- this website is very virtual The background is all black. You click the oven and asked how much time you have. Then the oven preheats, then a chef cooks the food that you have time to watch. The food cooks and you can watch the mechanics of how heat cooks it. Its very visual, in 3D and interesting to watch.

Dynamics of a Webpage

NAtional Geo CritterCam is very interactive. The webpage moves and gives the user choice as they travel on an expedition through different environments. The page also has features such as scrolling options which gives the web user better capability and flexibility while utilizing the page.

Web Page/ Web platform comments

I find that businesses are lacking in advancement when it comes to computer software. Money that could be made isn't being made. More websites should capitalize on building onto other prosperous websites. Since every site has accessible data for you to change or modify it, I don't see why people don't make it their business to extend the value of a software by building on to it with other programs for the users.

Designs that stick out

I really like the "Under the Sea" layout (http://www.csszengarden.com/?cssfile=213/213.css) by Eric Stoltz because first off, I am a natural fish who loves the water. I also think the illustrations of the animals are ravishing.

I also find the CSS Co,.Ltd layout (http://www.csszengarden.com/?cssfile=/209/209.css&page=0) by Benjamin Klemm  interesting solely because the colors, orange and grey, which resembles Goucher's website. It does look very simplistic but that is a good thing because the layout isn't over-adorned by too many graphics.
